2027 Special Examination Arrangements (SEA) applications open January 27 2027. Rollover of previously approved applications close 22 February 2027. Alternative format applications and new SEA applications close 12 March 2027.

The Special Provision Online (SPO) platform is now closed for applications regarding ongoing or known conditions. However, the SPO system is still open for appeals of 2026 SEA applications that have declined decisions. These appeals should be submitted by the school within 14 days of receiving a decision email. The VCAA will aim to process all appeals within 21 days of receipt of an appeal (excluding weekends, public or school holidays). From Wednesday 16 September 2026, the Emergency SEA Application Form may be submitted via email to the Special Provision team for any sudden illness, accident, or personal circumstance. This form is available from VASS as a download.
